Dubai: Tourists in Dubai may appreciate a Sim card complete with information and talk time, at the airport in their arrival, officials said.
Tourists above 18 years can find the free Du Data Sim card, due to a new initiative from the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) in Dubai.
Major General Mohammad Al Marri stated the Sim card is 20mb info free and valid for a month with three minutes of talk time.

\”The initiative is the first of its type on earth. Dubai is your first destination on the planet to present free Sim cards for people,\” Major General Al Marri said.
Tourists will find the Sim card from the passport control officer on their arrival.
GDRFA, in collaboration with Emirates Integrated Telecommunications Company (EITC), established the pilot stage of this Link with Happiness project on May 28, allowing travelers with transit, go to visa, visa on arrival and GCC citizens arriving at Dubai International Airport to benefit from their free support.
\”We distributed 10,000 free Sim cards travelers to make sure they enjoy a secure, joyful and fulfilled stay. And they enjoyed the idea. The project intends to help attain the Dubai Happiness Agenda that has been executed from the Smart Dubai Office to make Dubai the most joyful city in the world,\” Major General Al Marri added.
How the Free Du Data Sim Card Works
Visitors over 18 can get the Tourist Sim bundle. Which comes preloaded with 20mb information, three minutes, a Sim card and validity.
Tourists can include information or more calling minutes via three choices that are recharge by du:
- Purchase Dh25 and receive 150 MB information — 10 flexible moments, three-day validity
- Pay Dh55 and receive 500 MB information – 20 flexible moments, seven-day validity
- Pay Dh110 and receive 2 GB info — 40 flexible moments and 14-day validity
The visitor should add the Sim card dial * 122 # and follow directions to trigger the free SIM.
